The factoring fine print

What does factoring cost per load?

Invoice × rate % plus any flat fee. At 3% on a $5,000 invoice, $150 — you keep $4,850 total, $4,750 today with a 95% advance.

What is a good factoring rate in 2026?

Non-recourse 2–5% is typical for owner-operators; below 3% with no hidden fees is competitive. Above 5%, quick-pay or waiting 30 days is usually cheaper.

What is the reserve in factoring?

The holdback: invoice minus advance minus fee, released when the broker pays. At 95% advance and 3% fee on $5,000, $100 comes later — not extra income.
