Privacy Policy
Short version: no accounts. Your calculator inputs stay in your browser. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are used. Details below. Updated September 2026.
What we store
Calculator inputs are saved only in your browser (localStorage) and in share-link URLs you create. We operate no accounts and keep no server-side profiles.
Saved truck profiles, recent load scenarios, IFTA rows, and benchmark preferences are also stored only in this browser. The FMCSA lookup sends the identifier you submit through our Cloudflare Worker to FMCSA QCMobile or, when QCMobile is unavailable, the official DOT Company Census File. We do not store a server-side lookup history.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which pages are used (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser info). Google processes this data on our behalf. No data sold, no advertising profiles built by us. Visitors in the EU, EEA and UK are asked first, and analytics cookies stay off until they accept; elsewhere analytics is on by default. Cookies & storage
We use browser localStorage for your settings (theme, language, calculator inputs) and short-lived caches (fuel prices). Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (e.g. _ga) to distinguish visits; in the EU, EEA and UK only after you accept analytics cookies in the banner. No advertising cookies.
Children
This site is a business tool for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Saved data controls
Profiles, recent load scenarios, IFTA rows, calculator inputs, theme, and language preferences are stored in this browser only. Use this button to remove CostPerMile local data from this device.
Contact
Privacy questions or deletion requests: info@costpermiles.com. Since we hold no accounts, there is usually nothing to delete — clearing site data in your browser removes everything.
Newsletter
If you opt into CostPerMile updates, your email is sent to Buttondown through our Worker. Buttondown uses double opt-in and manages confirmation and unsubscribe requests. We do not sell newsletter addresses.
